Last night Ellie and Megs stopped by and took me to see Final Fantasy: the spirits within!! It took a bit of time to convince my mom to let me go since I had a class today, and we were going to a ten o'clock showing. I thought it was stunning. I'm sure everyone knows how amazing the animation is, so I don't think I need to go into that. People have been complaining about the plot, but I like the plot. It reminded me a lot of the plot of Final Fantasy VII, but it was just different enough not to feel like it was recycled. I kinda like the idea of the planet being alive. ^__^

I wasn't all that tired today despite staying out 'till 11:55 last night and waking up at 6:30. I did pretty well until early afternoon. In stead of animation we went to an art museum this afternoon. The first half of the tour was outside. We stood outside in the bright sunlight getting dehydrated while the tour guide tried to get us to talk about the building as though it were art. I now have a minor sunburn because of this. The art in the actual exhibit was bad. It was called "As Painting" or something like that but it should have been called "stripes" seeing as how most of the painting were simply that, stripes. There was also a piece of wood screwed to the wall with a name plaque beside it >.< I don't like modern art. There was another student there who knew enough about modern art to sound like he appreciated it, but he didn't hide the fact that he didn't like it.

I really like my animation class. It's sorta addictive. I'm going to try to scan the frame I drew and put them together into a gif or something. In class we just sit and draw and watch animated movies and shows. Today we watched Fantasia 2000 and Mononoke Hime!! Life is good. Cafeteria food is bad. But that is alright.

The animation teacher told me that my second attempt of a ball bounceing looked like something that someone who'd completed a year of class would draw ^___^. Next we're supposed to be drawing an action (a person), somehow I don't think this one'll turn out as well as th bouncing ball. My other art teacher liked my rather large drawing of an empty egg beater packaging (aka garbage XP). To be truthful I kinda like it too. It's extremely zoomed in so you can't really tell what it is.

CCAD cafiteria food is horrible. I couldn't even build up the courage to eat the pizza. There wasn't much cheese, and the crust was covered in a thin layer of tomatoe sauce.

Other then that the classes were fun. The elective I got into was animation. It's really cool, and most of the class said they were there because they like anime. We did a very simple animation just to learn how to use the materials.

We used a computer to make the drawing animate, and the computers were achaic, but they still worked. They were Amiga computers and mom said Amiga was one of the first Mac computers.

The foundations of art classes was a bit less enjoyable, but not bad. At least they had actual funiture and not the odd seating devices they make the saturday morning classes use. We spent most of the morning drawing thumbnails of random objects. The random object that was given to me was an eggbeater. Needless to say those are some very bad thumbnails. Eventually I got bored and started sketching the empty package the eggbeater came in. Those came out a little better, so I think I'm going to end up with a rather large(18" x24") drawing of an empty eggbeater package.

Tomorrow I start a two week class at CCAD. I'm oddly nervous. well, I guess it's not strange to be nervous. I think mostly what I'm afraid of is driving there. It's during the day so my mom can't drive me, I have to drive myself. When she gets back from the store we're going to drive there so I can learn how to get there.

I was trying to relax by playing video games. I got to the battle with Sephiroth. It was odd. He kept saying "Bizzaro Power" and gaining HP. I wasn't expecting a long drawn out battle, I thought there'd be two attacks and I'd be dead. In stead I very slowly had my ass handed to me. Oh well, at least I got to Sephiroth.
